Hey Guys Im piecing together a rally car build and am needing a few more fabrication jobs done. Im wondering if there are limitations on how much fab work you can DIY or get a fabricator mate to do. A few jobs needing done are bellow. Any thoughts or direction will be appreciated. "box up"/cover the fuel tank thats going to be in between the rear strut towers to isolate it from the main cabin. I also need seat mounts made possibly harness anchor points and holes in the front of the front wheel wells welded back up where inter cooler pipes pass through/where the standard battery mount is/was. Again, any information will be really appreciated. Attachments:

There are no restrictions as to what you can do yourself, however, any welding you do must be deemed up to scratch. No welding ticket is required, but there must be proof that you're competent (can do a good job). Obviously this is important when looking at seat mounts and belt anchorages where your life is reliant on the quality of those welds. Keep in mind that there are some parts of these components that can't be welded. Have a chat to your certifer and check out the info in the NZ Car Construction Manual on what can and can't be done.
Being a rally car, you'll end up needing a Motorsport NZ Authority card, which will cover off items such as the seat mounts and belt anchorages, so make sure you check both the LVV standards as well as MSNZ standards.
