hi,
I am in new Zealand is it legal for me to have imported coil-over springs fitted to my car from Taiwan and Australia? they tell me it is all good but I am a bit suspicious and this is going to hit me in the pocket big time because it will have to be undone.

Hi Evan As long as the coil springs are the correct catalogued part for the vehicle, from a reputable brand and are installed correctly then there should be no issues. Regards Chris

This is more of a WoF question than a certification question but will do my best to answer.
I presume you are meaning "smoked" by applying an overlay or similar product onto your OE lamp. These are not legal, as the light output is altered due to a modification.

OE Lamp refers to the vehicle's Original Equipment lights (the lights fitted to the car in the factory). Lights are not a certification item, and only required to meet WoF standards. You can see in section 12G of this link, that lights that have been modified (e.g tinted) can not pass wof. vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/lighting/rearward-facing-position-lampsYour original question about springs, did you mean adjustable height coilovers, or simply replacements springs for your OE (factory fitted) shocks? If you're fitting adjustable height coilovers, the vehicle will need to be LVV Certified, but if it's simply replacement springs being added to your OE shocks, certification is not required. Hope that helps.
