Hi Guys,
Is it legal to use redrilled hubs (such as a cefiro) on the road?
at the moment i've done the big brake upgrade and just had the front 5stud rotors drilled to 4 stud, so that it all fits together. which brings me to ask if redrilled rotors are legal?
i will be changing to 5 stud hubs and will revert to a (not drilled) 5 stud rotor, when one comes along at the right price.

Hi Andrew
Re-drilled discs can be used, however this would need to be very carefully done, to ensure that the holes don't come too close, or worse overlap. Your LVV Certifier would need to carefully check that the drilling is satisfactory, and would ultimately have to make the call on whether or not it was acceptable.
The Certifier will also assess whether the 4-stud arrangement is satisfactory if you have increased the vehicles performance and/or weight.
Rather than proceeding with this modification, it's recommend that you purchase the correct hubs to allow the use of the 5 stud discs - this is a very common conversion, and parts are both readily available, and reasonably priced. This is a better, safer option.
I hope this helps.

yes i'm waiting for a pair of front s14 ones to show up, would prefer not to use redrilled hubs,
if only it were that easy for the rear. i need 300zx z31 rear hubs which are very hard to find.
thanks for your answer. and 027 2584856 if anybody reading this has those hubs i'm after

Are you modding an A31? If so use R32 rear hubs, straight bolt in If you use S14 front hubs you need to use the stubs too as the bearings are different sizes and you will need different lower arms as the ball joint taper is different, use either R32 (i can not confirm they fit but have heard so) or S14 arms, the S14 ones are 20 mm longer which will increase your front track so you will need an alignment.

It sounds like he is doing a 280zx or maybe a r31/r30 like myself. You need z31 hubs which are not cheap
