At a wild guess, they wouldn't wear this because the car side of the assembly is a pin and not a complete loop. I prefer a complete loop Robin which can be mounted on the body with 2 or 4 bolts as opposed to just one bolt (the pin). Be interested to hear what the experts say.

Hi guys
'Autoloc" are just a wholesaler - the lock assemblies are made by independent manufacturers.
This type of lock has been assessed in the past by LVVTA, in fact we tested some to destruction to find out for sure!
The results were; the Plated Tongue version failed - its tongue snapped, but the black un-plated tongue version passed.
As well as having several requirements for aftermarket door latches, the Hobby Car Technical Manual backs this up by saying;
13.14.1(b) Tongues on aftermarket latches must remain in an un-plated black tempered state - any aftermarket latches with electroplated tongues that have been tested by LVVTA, have failed.
We still have the adapters, so we could quite easily re-do the test if there was a need to do so.
I hope this helps
Justin
