I remember those B&C alloy centre steel rim wheels, haven't seen one in a coons age. Lots of people had them back then and i don't remember any problems with them. I am pretty sure B&C didn't make them they were an import. I am also IMHO sure welded rims are not kosher any more but those hybrids are OK.

I am placing your question in front of the TAC tonight - I should be able to come back to you in the next day or two with either an answer, or requesting more infromation.
Cheers, Justin

Hi there.
The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) discussed your question, and although there was only very basic information given in your post, they don't like the idea of using these wheels on a new vehicle. There is a likelihood that the wheels could be unsafe due to their age, possible lack of heat treatment when manufactured, and it's also unknown what sort of hard time they might have had in their life.
Of course the TAC haven't seen a wheel - if you'd like me to present a rim for their inspection, give me a call on (04) 4774 372 and I'll arrange to have them view it at the next meeting.
Cheers, Justin
