I have a vehicle with LVVTA certification. It had 14" wheels when certified, so that's what's stamped on the cert plate. I've now fitted larger diameter (18") wheels and low profile tyres, with the same rolling circumference. Also, it's certified as a 5-seater because I had bucket seats in the front when certed. I've now installed the original bench seat, using the factory mounts, making it a 6-seater. I just want to confirm that I don't need to have it recertified for these mods?

Hi there. The LVV certification process gives a vehicle a 'new' statement of compliance, so any additional modifications you have listed that have been carried out after it's been certified will need to be inspected by an LVV Certifier, to ensure that it is still safe, and that no further modifications have been carried out.
If you have re-fitted an original bench seat into the vehicle, the LVV Certifier will need to inspect the mounting points to determine that no further mods have been done in order to fit the seat, and that any mods previously done have not interfered with the OE seat re-installation. They will also check that none of the seat belt anchorages have been modified, and determine if an additional set of anchorages will be required for the new seating position you have created.
Similarly, the wheels, although a similar rolling radius, will need to be inspected by the LVV Certifier, to ensure that the wheel or tyre does not interfere with any brakes, bodywork, or other components.
The LVV Certifier can then (if satisfied) forward the paperwork and application to LVVTA to have an amended certification plate produced. There will be a charge by the LVV Certifier for this service, as the Certifier will need to spend time completing his inspection.
If the LVV Certifier determines that further modifications have been performed since the original LVV Certification, they may require that the vehicle be re-certified.
Cheers, Justin
