Hi there, I am currently studying for my diploma in mechanical engineering and am carrying out an assignment on Ackerman angle or toe out on turns when using a steering rack instead of a steering box & track rod. For the purposes of the assignment I'm mentioning but not going into slip angles, as its the how & if the pivot in the tie rod affects the change in toe that I need to understand & explain.
Wondering if anyone here can help me by answering a few questions,
Cheers
Hagen

There are some pretty good books around on this. I have a spare copy of Costin & Phipps Racing & Sports car chassis design FS which is very good also look at Low cost High speed by Alan Staniforth, he details making string models to test suspension geometry. Patrick
