Hi, I have a 1977 Pontiac which has the original 3 point dual retractor seat belts (one to roof, one to floor).
I have found new replacements with just the single retractor (roof only) with just a mounting bracket where it mounts to the floor.
Would I still require a cert to fit these even if they bolt straight in to the existing mounting areas and using the same mounting hardware?
The belts do carry the FMVSS 209 tag etc.
Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply Leon. Looks like they're not quite the bolt-in I hoped for though! Could you tell me if brackets are legal here? (see link to image) This is what I'd need to do, or make new mounting points at roughly 90 degrees to where they are currently ie the side of the floor facing outward rather than straight down. i.ebayimg.com/00/s/OTAwWDkwMA==/z/DSIAAOSw~CRTorql/$_1.JPGThanks again Craig

Looking at that image, my first instinct is to say no, because to me that would be trying to pull straight under loading, so you'd need to box it. Unless you made it out of battleship anyway.
