hi. I am doing a solid axle swap on a surf. 78 series prado solid diff with a suspension lift. can't afford after market replacements arms, so to keep the castor right rather than dropping the new cross member too far below chassis is it possible to?
option 1/ make new arms out of maybe 40mm thick plate so factory diff mounts are used but chassis end is lifted to mount close to chassis, using factory? (new) bushes in new arms.
option 2/ use factory prado arms with chassis mount just below chassis but swivel diff end of arm around diff, so still inside factory diff mount but drill new holes for bolts through mount and arm (bushes) and sandwich with a piece of plate on each side, you picture what I'm trying to say?
prefer option 1. or instead of plate steel can tube be used? or is there another option?
cheers andrew

hi leon
can't take a photo of what I'm 'thinking' because nothing exists (apart from in my head). I will take some photos of what we have done which I want to change. and some photos of the diff end and try and describe what I'm thinking.
cheers andrew
