With my mk2 escort I'm having trouble finding a good spot of flat floor to mount my doubler plate. The only place I will be able to fit the correct size plate on flat floor is in the photo I will link below. The floor section has the seat mount welded there. So the doubler plate will sit over where the seat mount welds onto the floor. The seat mount metal is only .8mm thick, and the bolts only bolt through the floor not the seat mount, it's this okay? Or does it need to be on dead flat floor. My only other option is to mount to the gearbox/driveshaft tunnel. Cheers. imgur.com/a/nXF4Wv4

Cheers. imgur.com/a/nXF4Wv4Hi Ryan If I am understanding correctly what you are asking, then this should be OK, it does not have to be fitted to a completely flat section of floor, but the doubler plate should be shaped to follow the contour of the floor as closely as possible, but I don't imagine there would need to be much shaping required in this case. If you still are not sure, it may pay to get your certifier to take a look and confirm the placement is acceptable. Cheers Chris
