Hi there, thanks for accepting my account.
I just have a few questions regarding certification for suspension. I had my car certed last year for its suspension at a certain height etc. As it usually has problems getting onto a hoist when going for a wof I usually raise the car up so it is within the 5% limit of my cert plate. I have just gone for a wof with my car at this height and they have failed me because my car is lower than the 100mm rule and now they want me to raise my car making it illegal in regards to the cert plate. I am just confused to who is right in this situation. I thought the cert plate overrides the 100mm rule, so it doesn’t matter if my car is lower than 100mm, just as long as it is within the cert plate range. Is this correct? Or do I have it all wrong?
Also the same wof place failed me for adjustable camber arms. But I thought these arms were covered under the suspension cert, is this correct? If not, does that mean I have to go through the whole certification process just for these camber arms, or can I just pay a smaller fee and have them added onto my current cert plate?
Sorry for the long questions, I am just really confused. Thanks for any help/ advice you can give me

Hi there
Once a vehicle has been LVV Certified for a change to the OE suspension height, the 100mm ground clearance rule can not be applied - the inspector should only use the height listed on the cert plate, and compare to the actual vehicle height. The vehicle should not pass a WoF unless the actual suspension heights are within the 5% range of the recorded heights.
If the camber arms were fitted to the vehicle at the time it was certified, then they will be covered. usually they will be listed on the cert plate - if not, usually due to a lack of space on the cert plate, the only way is to check the details on the F001 (statement of compliance) certificate. If you don't have this, you should get a copy from the original certifier, or from us (LVVTA) and keep a copy safe somewhere, or laminate it and keep it in the car.
