My car is a ford capri [2.0 gt] 1975
I have five stud alloy mags [7 inch wide, old school low offset ]
I need to get new hubs manufactured to the new 5 stud pattern with a new offset to suit [25mm less offset than factory]
Is alloy ok or must they be steel ?
Can I use gp4 alloy studs ? or should I use steel studs ?
Im going to bolt a hat to the back of the hub, although Les Hunter is trying to get me to attach the hat to the front of the hub held on by the mag wheel .
attached to the hat will be 310mm rotors and four pot calipers.
The struts are factory and the wheels will sit inside the factory guards by approx 10mm [tonnes of clearance] same as rear wheels.
Already got 1 inch bore brake master cylinder [land rover].
will I have any problems cert wise?

Hi there
Yes you can use alloy for your hubs - however you should make sure that the alloy you use is suitable for the application.
Wheel studs should be of a type that is purpose-designed for automotive use. See the NZ Hobby Car Technical Manual for more details.
The disc to hub attachment is down to your preference. Many OE manufacturers use the hat method, with the disc mounted over the top of the hub.
Make sure that the master cylinder is a dual circuit type.
I suggest you work with an LVV Certifier to ensure that you don't run into any problems, and of course a Hobby Car Manual is essential when carrying out extensive modifications such as these.
I hope this helps.
