Hi there, im in the process of building a custom build Harley, and need to clarify a few things.
First question: Handle bar switches what are the requirements? Do they have to be mounted to the bars on just within suitable reach?
Second question: Open belt drives, what are the requirements, does the whole belt drive have to be covered, or just the top and sides?
Cheers, Dylan.

Hi
Regarding the handle bar switches - The following controls must be able to be operated without moving the applicable hand from the handle bar grips lock to lock - 1. Turn signals 2. Horn 3. Headlamp beam
Regarding the open belt drives - Moving parts particularly rotating parts and chains must be shielded to eliminate risk of contact with vehicle occupants while the vehicle is in use, including shielding against component failure.
I would pay to have a talk with your local LVV certifier and show him the design you wish to use.
Regards
Rob
