Hi there.
You'll need to make sure that the tubes used in the 4-bar setup meet or exceed the Hobby Car Technical Manual (HCTM) requirements - these are split into low and high power output - if in doubt go for the larger size (note: NB=nominal bore - this is NOT the outside diameter dimension. I've included the OD measurement for the 25mm/1" option for clarity): Low power output - 22 mm (7/8”) NB schedule 80 x 4.2 mm (11/64”) High power output - 25 mm (1”) NB schedule 80 x 4.2 mm (11/64”)(33 mm [1 5/16”] OD x 5.0 mm [3/16”])
You'll also need to make sure that the end-joints you use meet the applicable requirements - the HCTM provides a section for spherical joints, bushed ends etc. Make sure that if you're using spherical joints that you select a joint that meets or exceeds the load rating requirements, and they'll need to be Teflon or Kevlar lined, which makes the joints self-lubricating.
I hope this helps. Justin
