One for Jason and the guys! My plan is to put a Rover V8 and Trans in My 1937 model CX (UK car, assembled in NZ) www.carfolio.com/specifications/models/car/?car=65252The chassis seems identical to that of the later Ford Pop....looking at them it seems to be a common transplant (in the UK...). Before I go to far down the road, I'd like to pose the question?? Can this be certified? I am aware that the chassis will need reinforcement, but can this be done on the original chassis? Would appreciate you feedback before I do too much prep work. Cheers

Hi garryg. It's a tricky one, not being familiar with this model. If it is similar to a Pop chassis, then boxing the OE front rails back to the firewall and then linking these to a pair of new RHS rails back to the kick-up area, with a new k-member, would likely add enough to prevent chassis flexing, and would allow the OE chassis to remain. Your front suspension and brakes are also going to need to be up to the task - there are a number of possible options here, depending on budget and ability - I suggest that you make contact with an LVV Certifier early on, and as always I highly recommend that you have the latest version of the NZ Hobby Car Technical manual close by. Good luck with your project!

Cheers Justin...sounds positive. The car sits on the same chassis as the Pop.
I have been trying to source a certifier for some time, but not an easy task. Also have the manual at hand, so hopefully soon, I can get the go ahead!
Cheers

Sounds great - what part of the country are you in? I'm in Auckland, Hunua. It's my first project, so no doubt it will take some time.
