I'm wanting to shorten my ute tray and chassis. Currently there is about 300m of chassis rail behind the rear leaf spring shackle mounts. There is a structural cross member forward of the shackle mounts but nothing rearward.
Can I cut the chassis back to level with the end of the schackle mount? And if so will this require cert or will it pass a standard wof?
My thinking is the regidity will not be reduced and with the tray being shortened there will be less weight and force over all on the chassis.
