I'm planning on refurbishing my dad's old v8 engine swapped Torana, it has been garaged for the past 20 years and it's registration lapsed in 1996. I understand that the declaration certificate no longer applies because the registration lapsed, but would the modifications made be likely to pass today's standards if nothing is changed?

Good morning,
We've no real way to tell that, maybe before you get into the refurb, get the car to a certifier (or get a certifier to the car) and he can advise you what on the car will need to be brought up to current spec, and what can be left as it was.

Cheers Leon, I'll get in touch with a certifier sooner rather than later then once I start to get the project rolling
