I am just about to have my 1930 model A roadster pick up vined and certified ,my question is am I required to have a high stop light.my local garage guy thinks not as it is a pick up and they don't require them .Also there is nowhere high to put one where it would be of any use .

Your garage is correct, only MA-class vehicles (cars) are required to have a high-mounted stop lamp. This does not include pick-ups, which are NA class.

Hi I have looked through the regs and this looks like it is still true, can you confirm that a scratchbuilt pickup doesnt need a high stop lamp Thanks Nick

Yes, this is correct, you do not require a high-stop light.
