Ive looked thru the Hobby Car Manual but couldn't find the information I needed. What is the deal with narrowing chassis rails to allow more room for wheels? Mini Tubing. I'm building a 1958 Ford Anglia 100E with a 1uz V8, and fitting a Hilux axle with a 4 link setup. With 15x9" wheels on the rear, the just fit, but if i could move the chassis rails by around 25mm it would allow adequate clearance for tyres? Thanks in advance for any help. Cheers, Dylan.

Hi Dylan,
Sorry, this one got buried, and I've only just come back to it.
Yes, you can modify chassis rails, but you're going to need to ensure that you maintain the strength there.
This is the sort of thing that you should get onto your certifier with early, so that you can work out a plan. Additionally, so he can work with you on who is going to do the welding, and at what stage in the modification process he is going to want to see the job.
With this sort of structural modification, your certifier is going to want to see the welding before any tidying or painting is done.
