Hi, Just a question regarding drive shaft loops I have a 97 stages rs4 and I have been reading your info sheet, Now I got told a need two as it is a two piece shaft but the rear part does have a hanger after the join as for the front part it def does need one, The question I have is, is there is a factory mounting point in the tunnel within the 250mm that has a 14mm nut one side and 14mm bolt the other (looks like a mounting point for a hanger if it was 2wd), am I able to bolt a loop to that rather than having to drill through my floor pan?
Cheers, Jonny

Hi Jonny,
If the rear section of the driveshaft has the hanger on the front of that rear shaft, then you may not need a second loop. Nissan's normally tend to have the hanger on the rear section of the front shaft, so they usually need two loops.
As to using existing mounting points, that will depend on how strong they are. If they're 14mm into unsupported sheet steel, then that won't do, and you'd need doubler plates. If they're 14mm into a subframe or chassis rails, then that is more promising.
The best advice I can give you, is to take the car into your certifier and get him to give it a quick check, and make your plans based from that inspection. That way, you know in advance if you are going to need to put in doubler plates while you've got the car in bits. Rather than potentially going in for your inspection with what you think is a completed car, and having to pull seats & carpet out to put doubler plates inside it.

thank you,
yeah the rear section does have a hanger after the join i think same as r33 gtr,
as per the front mounting point it may just be safer to use my floor pan as it dosnt go to a sub frame or chassis rail its just got a ridge that's attached to the tunnel as a hanger bearing would
cheers once again Jonny
