I have searched everywhere I can but couldn't find any info on the standards for RCA's.
What are the criteria these need to meet? As much info like material type, thickness or design type would be good.
I am looking at purchasing some professionally made off the shelf bolt on plate type RCA's that also correct bump steer.
Any info would be appreciated.
Cheers

The requirements for these is that they must be a fit for purpose material, eg steel or high grade alloy.
If the original attachment includes a flange, this must be replicated on both sides of the RCAs also.
The thickness is based on suitability to correct bumpsteer, but keep in mind that depending where the steering arm is, these may or may not have an impact in bump steer. In some instances they may increase bumpsteer rather than diminish it.
Also keep an eye out for ball joint bind.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for that. I was thinking of something like these: slrspeed.myshopify.com/collections/race/products/bmw-mini-kit-3-series-1982-2005They fix the Roll Centre as well as the bumpsteer at the same time and allow both to be fine tuned. Is the mounting point for the tie rod allowed to be moved like these have (to allow for quicker steering)? These can be setup with factory Ackerman (steering geometry isn't changed) so apart from the relocated steering pick up point, they seem more or less like other RCA's I have seen on the road here. By the way, this is for a dedicated race car (caged+ authority card etc) so the reason why i'm investigating getting the car as well setup as I can.

I'll have a chat to the Technical Working Group about these and come back to you.

These have been discussed at TWG, and the outcome is that they would require TAC approval. There is concern that these may have an adverse affect on bump steer.
TAC have looked at a similar item recently for Nissans, and it was rejected as not being suitable for road use. Although that does not mean that this one will be, it may be worth taking into consideration.
If you would like some assistance on the TAC side, fire an email through to tech@lvvta.org.nz

Can you tell me why the ones for the Nissans were rejected?
I don't want to go through TAC (again) only to be rejected so need to know if I was to have some made up, what can I get away with. I assume if the tie rod attaches to the original mounting point through the RCA, then its just like any other RCA and I don't need TAC approval?
This is obviously as long as I meet the other criteria you stated in your first reply and the bump steer is within spec.
