Hi guys, thanks for adding me to the forum. I read that a production vehicle can only be modified 40% before having to be registered as scratch built. Is there a chart describing what areas equate to modification percentages? For example an engine/gearbox swap would be 10%
Cheers Dale

Hi Chris,
I have a 1947 Chevy 3/4 ton truck that I would like to fit a diesel engine and automatic gearbox. Also replace the chevy axles with the 4wd axles from the donor vehicle to make the swap almost bolt in with the exception of engine/gearbox mounts. As the axles have disc brakes I would like to fit an aftermarket master cylinder/booster.

I presume you are retaining the 1947 Chevy chassis and modifying it?

Yes looking to keep chassis, body and stock steering box. Is there a height limit? For example if I wanted to run 35" tyres? Cheers

Cheers No there is not height limit, but if your pickup has been raised by more than 50mm in tyre height, suspension height or body lift then a static rollover calculation will need to be performed. This will need a certifier to take some measurements to send into us to perform the calculation.
