Looking at fitting Bilstein B6 shocks to a 2019 Triton 4WD.
Have been told by a supplier they may need certification as the shock technically has two possible height settings for the spring seat. They are not "adjustable" in the sense that they can be changed once installed. The correct seat height needs to be selected before installation. The spring seat uses a circlip type retention system rather than being welded in place.
I am not going to alter suspension height and am retaining the factory springs.
I am hoping to install the Bilsteins as a "drop in" replacement for the factory shocks.
Will these shocks need certification?

Hi DW Page 16 of the Certification Threshold Document is the relevant page for your question, Certification is not required for modification of springs and shock absorbers (including modification of ride height) provided that the springs or shock absorbers are direct replacements and the springs and spring seats are not height adjustable by any means (unless OE)
As your spring seats are adjustable (albeit with difficulty) and are not replicating the OE fitment, then this does require certification. Hopefully that helps Cheers Chris
