Have recently purchased a 1938 lincoln zephyr 2 door. I plan on semi hotrodding it. 1 major issue is their is pretty much no floor in the car and the chassis looks to be weathered also (body is welded to the chassis in these cars) I'm considering going down the scratch built route as this thing was dregd many years ago and will end up a better build in the long run.
Has anyone in nz, is it legally able to be done, basicly cutting the top off of a car (sills up but keep firewall) and cutting the bottom off of this and joining the 2 together? Thinking a xr6 turbo falcon. Then next issue is the falcon is 350mm to short in the wheelbase, am I able to lengthen the falcon chassis or is it better to shorten the zephyr?
Cheers everyone!!!

Hi Corey Yes this type of thing has been done before with a BA Falcon floor, sills, drivetrain etc grafted under the body of an XY Falcon. It would be a complex task of course, but it can be done and has been done successfully. Whether you shorten the Zephyr or lengthen the Falcon is entirely up to you, there is no expectation to go one way or the other. Hope that helps Chris
