Hi, I have a UN COMPLIED usa LH drive 1986 chev c20 pick up. Which is classed as a NB class vehicle according to LINZ. Im starting the process of getting it ready for compliance. The vehicle has been imported with the bench seat removed and a couple of old dodgy buckets seats fitted. They left the outside original sliding tracks of the bench seat and cut up inner tracks from another vehicle and made their own fixing to floor. 1.I want to fit 2 seats from 2007 BMW,with air bags removed from seat these have internal seat belts fitted but I don't want to use them as have new ones made by Fiddymont nz to fit to stock mounting points. 2. Does the class NB change who I get to certifiy seat change. 3. Im thinking I will use the outside oringal tracks of bench seat and bridge the gap with a false floor and connect seats to this floor. Section 2.12 of 18500-03 doesn't talk about what the false floor make up requirements are. Just fixing to it. 4. Who do I talk too if this is the best method im based on west coast SI. Does Gavin Martin (Nelson region) have correct qualifications to approach?
Great forum too.
Thanks

It will need to be certified by a heavy vehicle certifier. For a list of heavy vehicle certifiers go here - www.nzta.govt.nz/assets/resources/heavy-vehicle-specialist-certifiers/heavy-vehicle-specialist-certifiers-list.pdfCheers Chris
