Hey team, Have done a bit of reading, to understand as much as I can; I have a question related to Authority Cards specifically around the legitimacy of driving a Motorsport / Competition Vehicle on public roads and its outlined use. Whilst in some of the LVV standard document it is clear in terms of use on public roads for the purposes of an event, inspection, recertification etc (i.e Exhaust Noise Emissions), I have been unable to understand the explicit use of a Competition Vehicle if the below list is checked off. Assuming the following: - Vehicle holds a current LVV Certification for all required modications
- Vehicle holds a current Warrant of Fitness for all required VIRM requirements
- Vehicle holds a current Authority Card issued by MSNZ
- Vehicle has current MSNZ Logbook & Tech inspection (Incl minimum 2 x MSNZ Sanctioned events annually)
- Owner holds a current MSNZ Licence
- Owner is a current member of registered MSNZ Club
- Owner holds a current NZ Drivers License
Essentially, i'm happy to have my vehicle go through all the relevant processes (outlined above) and meet all requirements. Can I drive my vehicle on a public road, holding all of the above valid requirements, or is it defined somewhere in terms of for the use of attending events, servicing etc. (TLDR: I have a car that has a full cage and about to go through LVV Cert, WOF, Auth card processes. If I get all those done, will I be able to drive my car on the road, wherever I want, when i want?)

This is a question best asked of Motorsport New Zealand, but my layman understanding is that you can use a vehicle on the road that meets all of the requirements as you have listed above. I am not an expert on MAC's though so probably not the right person to be answering this question. Cheers Chris

Thanks Chris, after posting I kinda pondered if this was the right forum or not. I will reach out to MSNZ and perhaps update this thread for others wondering.
Appreciate the quick response never the less
