I would like to improve the cornering of my campervan (GVM 3500kg). I have purchased a bolt-on kit called Dynamic Suspension Plus ( www.facebook.com/watch/?v=631706407010019 ). When I tried the kit on the vehicle the wheel arch height increased by 8-10mm. Cornering stability certainly improved. I've since removed them pending a questions: Is this type of modification exempt from requiring certification. If so, under what particular section? Your advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks Alan L PS: To get my question answered do I need to become a full member and if so how is that done?

Hi Alan These are not listed on the threshold which describes which modifications do not require certification, so that means they would require certification as a suspension modification. Also there is no need to be a full member to get an answer, LVVTA monitor these boards and check in when we get an email notification of a post. Sometimes the email notification does not come through (don't know why) so it can sometimes take a few days to get a reply to a question as we don't typically check the forum every day, sometimes it goes weeks without a post so it kind of gets forgotten. But we do try and answer them as quick as we can. Cheers Chris

Thanks for your reply, Chris.
Regarding Helper Springs there must be hundreds if not thousands of vehicles in NZ with them fitted. 'Load Hogs' is one brand which comes to mind. I would assume from that, a few of the LVVTA certifiers has the previous knowledge to almost rubber stamp my application.
Would you please suggest one that I could approach to get certification. Note: I live in Pokeno which is north Waikato bordering on south Auckland.
I assume that I would negotiate a price with that individual.

Alan L Hi Alan Here is a list of certifiers in NZ, they all have their own price structures so they are best placed to give you a price. lvvta.org.nz/documents/suplementary_information/certifier_lists/lvv_certifier_list_website_general_motor_vehicles.pdfCheers Chris
