Sorry for a bit of a novice question. I was wondering if there was any issue in getting the underbody sealed before going for a cert (car is a 1981). Had someone tell me that they may think I'm trying to hide rust and that under sealing before a cert is a cause for a fail. If I was to get it done by a professional would this be cause for a fail?
Thanks.

Depends if there are modifications that will be covered over by that underseal. If there will be, I would ask your certifier to inspect them before you underseal it. Otherwise it'll be like asking a building inspector to sign off your wiring/plumbing with the cladding and plasterboard already installed. Cheers Chris

It's only an engine swap into an old Mazda, factory crossmembers are used so nothing new is being added bar the engine and an extended driveshaft. So should be no hassles?
