Hi there,
I have a 2017 Isuzu Dmax that I am wanting to chop the material around the body mount to stop my 33 inch tires scrubbing at full lock.
Talking with Isuzu, the material the chassis outriggers where the body mount mounts to is JSH590Y.
Does anyone know if this material is high tensile or not?
Isuzu didn't want to be the ones to answer this and possibly get it wrong.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers.

Hi Jayden A check of the Google machine tells us JSH590Y is 561MPa UTS which would make that an HSS or UHS, we have set our limit for welding steel without a welding process at 440MPa UTS. www.steelestores.com/grade/jfs-jsh590y-jfs-a1001.html#mechanicalIf you wish to cut the material off around the body mount, you will need to formulate a welding process (based on the manufacturer repair specifications would be a good start) which will need to be approved by TAC before you cut or weld. Cheers Chris
