Hi, New member. I want to buy a Hydrogen generator unit to fit in a 2005 Falcon 6 cyl. BA car to run in conjunction with petrol. My main reason is to reduce exhaust emissions. My question is will I need a LVV cert. and will the addition of this unit affect a WOF inspection ?. Thank you.

Thank you. Gidday Honz The modification threshold states that LVV certification is required for any fuel system-related modification, there are a few exclusions, but a hydrogen generator is not one of them. (see attached threshold snippet) Meaning they do require cert. However, if we were asked to certify one, we have no standards that are written to cover this modification so would need sufficient information provided to understand the modification clearly including an in-depth description of how the system functions and a full description of each component in the system. It is fair to note that we are asked a very similar question once or twice a year but are yet to see any evidence that a hydrogen generator will work as described and as far as I am aware, none have ever been certified. The information a manufacturer provide usually lacks any detail to gain a clear understanding of the components or their function. Hope that helps. Chris
