Specifically wanting to know how close can an exhaust run to a power steering valve body housing, where the input shaft meets the rack? I know it's 25mm from the uni with heat shield but haven't seen any numbers on this specific part, thanks.

Hi You are correct that a universal joint or flexible coupling must be at least 25mm away from the exhaust but for the rest of the steering system, there must be sufficient clearance between the exhaust and steering components that upon failure of either one or both of the engine mounts, the engine weight could not cause the steering system to become jammed or be affected by the exhaust.
